Mini Apple Pie Bombs - The Best Healthy Recipe

    Mini Apple Pie Bombs are the perfect combination of sweet, satisfying, and guilt-free. A high protein, low sugar dough with sugar-free cinnamon apples and coating, made in the air fryer!

    1. Heat small skillet over medium heat, add apples, 1 Tbsp water, sugar, cinnamon, and cook about 3-4 min until slightly caramelized (shaking every now and then).

    2. Transfer to plate and let cool 5 min.

    Dough:

    1. In a bowl, combine flour, protein powders and baking powder.

    2. Add butter, yogurt and milk - little at a time - and mix with a spoon to until just combined. You should have a smooth dough.

    3. Lightly flour a work surface, transfer dough to surface and knead until smooth - about 10 seconds.

      DO NOT OVER-MIX or it will make the dough tough.

    4. Flatten out into rectangle 1-1½” thick.

      Cut into 10 pieces.

    Assemble:

    1. Flatten, make depression in middle, place some apples mix in middle, cover with remaining dough and roll into balls.

    2. Preheat air fryer to 375°F.

      Spray basket with oil spray.

    3. Place balls in air fryer. (keep extras in fridge if working in batches so butter in dough doesn’t melt)

    4. Air fry 4-5 minutes until golden-brown.

    5. Brush with melted butter, roll in granulated sugar and enjoy!
